Location of Merrijig Ski Club

Merrijig Ski Club is located in Mount Buller village in the Victorian Alpine region of Australia, the closest major ski resort to Melbourne and to any international airport in Australia.

Note that the Merrijig Ski lodge is on Mount Buller mountain, not in the town 'Merrijig' before you get to Mt Buller.

Getting to Mt Buller

The most common route to Mt Buller from Melbourne is via Yea and Mansfield, highlighted on the map below.

By Car

The drive from Melbourne CBD is 225km / 3 hours
Travel is typically via Yea, Mansfield, Merrijig (town), Mirimbah (Mt Buller resort entrance), and using the Hume, Melba and/or Maroondah highways
Car parking options at and near Mt Buller are as follows:

The majority of cars are parked 1.5km below Mt Buller Village. Once you have passed through the Mt Buller resort entrance at Mirimbah, keep driving until you see a parking attendant who will direct you to an appropriate parking place. Carrying fitted wheel chains is a legal requirement in winter (chains can be bought or hired at most ski shops in Melbourne or Mansfield)
Cars can be parked (subject to availability) at several locations between Mansfield and Mirimbah, whereupon you can catch a bus to Mt Buller village. This option has the advantage of not requiring chains, mountain driving or paying resort entry fees. See the MMBL website for bus details
Cars can only be parked in Mt Buller village in winter if you have a special permit.

Getting to Merrjig Ski Club

If you drive to Mt Buller and park in the mountain carparks, take a 4WD taxi from the car park and ask for Merrijig ski lodge.
If you arrive by bus in Mt Buller village, getting to Merrjig Ski Club is a 5 minute stroll, a free local shuttle bus, or a quick taxi along the Stirling Road.
